How Much Will Your Dentures Cost?

Dentures are usually the most cost-effective option for replacing all of your teeth at once, but the exact cost is something that can vary from person to person. Despite what you might think, not all dentures are the same, and as such they can carry very different price points. There are several factors that need to be taken into account before your dentist can give you an estimate of how much you can expect to pay for a new smile. Read on to learn about 3 of the factors that determine the cost of dentures in Lutz.

1. Materials

What will your new dentures be made out of? Most dentists will recommend high-quality appliances composed of porcelain teeth and an acrylic gum-colored base. However, there are dentures made entirely out of plastic. These “economy” dentures might seem like the less expensive option up front, but they will wear down or break much sooner and will have to be replaced every couple of years. Acrylic dentures, by contrast, last up to 5 or 7 seven years on average. Be sure that you know exactly what kind of denture you’re paying for and what kind of lifespan you can expect.

2. The Type of Dentures

Getting dentures can mean different things for different people, and the kind you get will greatly influence the cost. The three major kinds include:

  • Full Dentures: These dentures are used to replace an entire arch of missing teeth.
  • Partial Dentures: You’ll receive partial dentures if you are missing a few teeth but still have enough healthy teeth that are worth saving.
  • Implant Dentures: Both full dentures and partial dentures can be anchored to implants, which makes them stronger and more stable.

Your dentist will go over the different types of dentures with you to help you understand which one is best suited for your situation – as well as what you can expect the cost to be.

3. Dental Insurance

If you have dental insurance, you can normally expect some level of coverage for dentures. The majority of policies will cover up to half the cost of major restorative procedures, which often includes dentures placement. Of course, the exact amount depends on what policy you have and the exact benefits you’re entitled to. Other factors, such as whether you’ve already paid your deductible for the year or how much of your annual maximum has already been spent, also need to be considered.

It’s important to make sure you have a full grasp on your options before you commit to getting any kind of dentures. By gathering all of the necessary information and considering your choices carefully, you can replace your missing teeth in Lutz without making an unnecessary dent in your wallet.
