Jay A. Nelson, DMD, PA
Dr. Jay Nelson has been proudly serving the dental needs of his friends and neighbors in Lutz, Land O’Lakes, Wesley Chapel, and the surrounding communities since 1987. Dr. Nelson earned his bachelor's degree summa cum laude from Rutgers University and his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics, the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, and he is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. In addition to practicing at a high level, Dr. Nelson also serves as a professional consultant to the dental industry. You may have seen him discussing advances in modern dentistry on WFLA (NBC), WTVT (FOX), or WTOG (UPN).
Dr. Nelson is committed to life-long learning and professional development through continuing education. He has trained with some of the world’s most prominent cosmetic dentists and has attended dental training facilities such as the Center for Advanced Dental Studies and the Pankey Institute. Most recently, he has completed courses on advanced laser techniques, earning proficiency certification from the Academy of Laser Dentistry and a fellowship from the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry. This continuing education allows Dr. Nelson to offer the most recent advances in cosmetic, restorative, and laser dentistry.
Dr. Nelson and his wife, Susan, have two wonderful daughters, Amanda and Rachel. In his spare time, Dr. Nelson enjoys reading, attending concerts, and travel.

Donna Rehrer, Appointment Coordinator
Donna has been helping our Lutz-area patients smile since Dr. Nelson opened his practice in 1987. Over the years, Donna has built lasting relationships with our patients and looks forward to meeting new people every day. Donna received her training from the Florida College of Medical and Dental Careers and has knowledge in radiology and advanced hygiene. She takes pride in working with a doctor and team who focus on patient satisfaction and quality dental designs.
Donna is married with three children. When she’s not handling our administrative duties, Donna enjoys shopping, cooking, horticulture, interior design, and listening to music.
Karen Dallas, Financial Coordinator
Karen brings 19 years of financial expertise to our Lutz dental office. Karen handles insurance claims, payment schedules, and offers convenient financing options for our patients. She will work to maximize your insurance benefits and provide affordable options that will allow you to get the care you need. In addition to her financial expertise, Karen holds an expanded functions dental assisting certification from the Florida College of Medical and Dental Careers. If you have any questions about your dental treatment, you can take advantage of Karen’s wide range of knowledge.
Karen is married and has one son, a stepson and a stepdaughter. Her hobbies include exercising and enjoying Florida’s beautiful beaches.
Denise Hall, Dental Hygienist
With over 25 years of experience as a dental assistant and hygienist, Denise delivers exceptional results. Denise’s dedication earned her the Red Cross Volunteer of the Year award for assisting soldiers at an Air Force base in Turkey. Have confidence that Denise will thoroughly clean your teeth and soft tissues and eliminate tartar build-up for a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime. She enjoys working for a practice that concentrates on quality and feels confident referring her friends and family members to Dr. Nelson for their dental care.
Denise and her husband of 19 years, Brad, have three boys, Joshua, Benjamin, and Joseph. When Denise isn’t helping our patients maintain their oral health, she keeps busy by reading, camping, exercising, watching movies, and singing in a praise and worship team.
Deborah Dykeman, Dental Hygienist
Deborah has been in the dental field for over 14 years, and she has been with our team for nine of them. She received her AAS degree in dental hygiene from Guilford Technical Community College. For her continued excellence, Deborah earned the Colgate Excellence in Education Award. Her passion for oral health is evident in her desire to inform patients about the connection between dental disease and overall health concerns. For nearly a decade, Deborah has maintained Lutz’s healthy smiles with her exceptional skill and hospitality.
Deborah has two daughters, Paige and Amy, and one grandson, Colton. Her hobbies and interests include reading, bicycling, cooking, and listening to live music.
Laura Sickinger, Dental Assistant
Laura joined our team four years ago after earning her dental assisting certification from the Pasco-Hernando Community College. Her insatiable appetite for knowledge makes her a perfect addition to our team. Laura is constantly learning new techniques and improving her dental skills. Her favorite aspect of her work involves building lasting relationships with patients and likeminded coworkers.
Away from the office, Laura and her two girls, Kylie and Kendall, enjoy swimming, eating, and just having a good time.
Frances Cameli, Dental Assistant
Frances has eighteen years of experience in the dental field. In addition to private practices, she has worked in a military hospital overseas with seven different nationalities of dentists. She has also trained many dental students while they were in externship programs. She truly enjoys educating patients about their dental health.
She is a proud military wife and is blessed with 2 of the most amazing teenage boys!
